My Personal Testimony
I was changed from knowing “religion” to knowing the One who can give us eternal life.
I was raised in a Catholic family, went through all the sacraments, regular churchgoer, but in all those years , I didn’t realize I was just practicing religion. I never heard the expression, having a personal relationship with Christ. The Bible was not on my reading list. I was also a worrier about most everything, especially about money.
I remember wondering what would happen if we didn’t have enough money to pay bills. It was an irrational worry , I see now,
Then, at a Sunday morning service, I listened to a speaker explain how I could have eternal life, and I received it that day.
Now that I have eternal life, my anxieties and worries have decreased, although they creep in occasionally. But I know the God whom I can turn to, and depend on Him.
Twenty four years ago, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer , and again the following year with colon cancer, which was much more serious. I can remember going through treatment and knowing that God was with me the whole time. I never actually believed I would die, but fear didn’t overcome me.
As I’ve grown in my walk with Jesus, and studied the promises of the Bible, I know for sure that I will go to heaven when I die.
