My Personal Testimony
I lived a life full of anger and anxiety. After becoming a Christian, I began bringing my anxieties to the Lord and trusting Him with my life.
Before I received eternal life I was living a life full of anxiety and anger. I was angry at the world and always anxious for what was to come.
I remember as a child being so angry at the life that I was given. My dad had moved 9 hours away and had a new family. I did not understand why I wasn't good enough for him to just stay with me. My mom and step dad were doing drugs, drinking all the time, and always fighting. I was so bitter because of the cards I had been dealt. To 13 year old me, life was unfair.
Then my boyfriend at the time (now my husband) invited me to church. After going that one night I knew that there was so much more to life. I started meeting with my youth pastor weekly and talking through what it meant to be a Christian. After a few months, I gave my life to Christ and got baptized.
Now that I have eternal life in Jesus Christ, I am able to bring my anxieties to the Lord. I am no longer angry at the "cards that I was dealt" because I know that they are a part of my testimony. I find peace in the Lord knowing that He is always here for me.
One night when I was serving on a mission trip in Guatemala, I was feeling hot from having no air conditioning, sick from the food, tired from lack of rest, and was honestly I was just ready to go home. In the midst of all of these feelings I reflected on the goodness of God and how He has provided for me over the years and how much I take for granted. Through this I was able to finish out the mission trip strong and give thanks to the Lord for His provision over my life.
Because I accepted Jesus into my heart years ago, I know that in years from now when my time comes I will be spending eternity in heaven with Jesus praising Him every moment.
