My Personal Testimony

I grew up in fear.

I had many fears, and the biggest of them all was the nightmare of snakes. I had nightmares of snakes even before the elementary school. Snakes, by one, in pairs, by group or even by piles, hissed and attacked me in my dreams. I was so scared every time that I woke up in the middle of night, crying, sweating and frightened. The nightmare followed me from my childhood village, to the city, and to USA, lasting more than 4 decades.

I continued my life with fear until I got involved in a car accident in 2014, hitting an 82 years old neighbor while backing out my car in my drive way. I could not sleep at all, thinking this was the real end of my life, there was no escape this time. Suddenly, I was reminded of an online worship someone had recommended to me a while back. I joined the online worship with Pastor Rick Warren. I started crying out of control, weeping through the whole worship for over an hour. A voice spoke to my heart: “Go to a church and get baptized”. That was exactly what I did. The pastor asked: do you accept Jesus as your savior and Lord, I said Yes; do you believe that Jesus had died on the cross for the forgiveness of your sin, and resurrected from the tomb to give you an eternal life, I said Yes.

After the baptism, my fear was gone!

I had another dream in which a snake was launching up to attack me, but someone snatch the snake and kill it. I have never had the nightmare ever since. My other fears and burdens appear miraculous so small now! I have enjoyed peace and joy ever since. Praise the Lord, my neighbor had recovered completely. She is well at 90 years young, still walking her dog every day. This is the life-saving blessing that I had received.
