My Personal Testimony
Me and my family had recently moved churches. The change in some important doctrines of faith confused me. Our new church was very intentional in growing stronger in faith as an individual and as a community. I had thought that I was saved but was unsure of my salvation; I thought that if I just read my Bible more the uncertainty would go away. However, as I grew in my church community more I realized something was missing from my life. When I went to the Christian summer camp the closeness of so many strong believers really pushed me to reconsider my faith. On the final night of the camp the final message ignited something in me. I came to realize who I was as a sinner and who I needed to save me. The only person who could save me, Jesus Christ. I finally understood what it meant to be sure of your salvation by grace through faith alone.
Before I received eternal life I was afraid of dying. Especially losing those I loved because I couldn’t understand how anyone could be so sure of their salvation. I had thought I was saved but was unsure how I could be certain of my salvation.
I remember going to a funeral and everyone saying that they were in heaven now. That they would meet again one day. I remember thinking how can you be so sure??
I had felt like something was missing in my life for a long time. We were at a Christian summer camp, the message on the final night made me realize what I was missing and I received eternal life.
I now know for sure I have been saved. The fear and uncertainty for myself and my loved ones has been transformed by the Lord.
While going through a period of anxiety and restriction in my life the only thing that made me realize my need to recover was the Lord’s guidance in my life. He continues to watch over me and heal me.
The peace that knowing I have forever with Jesus Christ is incredible. I know that if I were to die today I would go to heaven.
