My personal Testimony
I once was blind but know I see and enjoy the blessed assurances of God's gift of eternal life with Him in heaven.
When I was younger I was a loner didn't have friends and didn't really care. I just tried to fit in and please others, I was just outside following the crowd trying to fit in. I never stopped to consider if my actions were right or wrong or would hurt others. I was self centered and just choose whatever pleased me at the moment.
My mother was suddenly hospitalized and my dad needed my help. I told my wife the situation and left her and 2 babies to go help my dad care for my mother. I didn't to think about how my wife would feel and it never occurred to me that this action would hurt her and she would feel abandoned. A pastor came to my house and she told me how he had explained to her that her feelings were valid and my actions were wrong. He showed what the bible had to say about marriage and life. I felt I had to pay him back by having him over to dinner. This encounter with him started a slow change in me and I felt a need to know about the bible he talked about. This started a slow progressive change in me where today I am confident that I have a personal relationship with Jesus. I can now trust the bible and God's promises about how to live your life
After I learned to trust Jesus and the promises He made I began to see my life and the choices He wanted me to make from a different perspective. I started learning to see that life wasn't all about me that God had a plan and purpose for my life. That my choices and actions have consequences that affect others and I needed to listen to Him and try to understand others their needs and ideas.
Now when I face decisions I seek help from the bible and ask what God would have me due. I also seek other people I trust to help me to understand how to proceed and what to consider. And I also pray and talk things through with my wife before acting making sure we are in agreement of what to do. I now have a peace about how to make difficult decisions.
After serious injury I faced difficult decision of how to change careers. After talking things over with my wife we prayed, sought council and after almost a year of waiting and searching we had the peace to make a decision. We left where we had lived for 30 years leaving all are family and friends behind and moved to Arkansas. Now after being here 28 years we can look back and see all the blessings God had in store after that decision. An abundant life that we hadn't foreseen.
My spiritual experiences have shown me how by faith I can have a personal relationship with Jesus and through this relationship I have learned to trust in God's promises of eternal life
Your testimony matters too
