My Personal Testimony
From Self-Centered to God-Centered.
Before I received Christ I felt an emptiness and lack of overall purpose to life. I was discontent. I knew something was missing plus had had some guilt over past sins. Looking back, I was fairly self-centered.
I had just graduated from college, had a good job, new car, had plenty of friends (though life spread us out everywhere). For the most part, from a worldly perspective, things were going my way with the exception of a romantic relationship that ended. What's more, I also had a somewhat contentious relationship with my younger brother. I was too bossy and controlling with him.
Then someone shared with me what was really wrong with my life and how that could change. I could have eternal life through the Lord Jesus Christ. I received that gift and that changed everything.
Now I am very content in who I am and the purpose God has for my life. What's more, I began to learn how not to be self-centered.
The Lord opened my eyes to understand what is most important in life - having a loving relationship with Him and others that will last forever. He even gave me a strong sense that one of His purposes for me was to offer up my life in service to sharing His good news with others. What's more, my relationship with my brother improved greatly as I began treating him with more love and respect.
The best part of all is that I have certainty that I have eternal life and that I will go to heaven when I die.
