My Personal Testimony

Before I received eternal life I fought insecurity. I tried to live life doing the right things but I certainly wasn't perfect.

As a young 14 year old boy, I heard a preacher say in his sermon that God does not grade on a curve. I knew I did not measure up to God's standards. I would never be able to measure up, no matter how hard I tried.

One day, I was watching a Billy Graham Crusade on television and He explained clearly and simply the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I learned going to heaven was not about any good works I could do. It was the fact that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, and that through Him, I would be forgiven. At that moment, I accepted Jesus. Immediately, I had a feeling of peace and security! I knew I could never be perfect, but Jesus is! In Him, I was forgiven!

Now that I have eternal life, my burden has been lifted. Every day since, instead of trying to earn my way to Heaven, I receive His Mercy and Grace. He has given me peace in the midst of my life's circumstances.

Even in the midst of my father dying, He gave me peace. I knew I believed and could trust His Word.

The Bible says, "These things I have written to you, that you may KNOW that you have Eternal Life". Even if I were to die right now, I know that I would be with God in Heaven.
