My Personal Testimony
Finding Jesus' presence amidst scary circumstances and learning to find hope in Him every day.
I am thankful I have eternal life because it means that no matter what I go through in this life, I can have hope that there is something better on the other side.
I was born into a Christian family. When I was born, both my parents' parents were Christian, even my mom's parents' parents were Christian. I remember though giving my life to Christ when I was about 5 or 6 years old at my grandparents church. I remember being in kids church and being called forward if we wanted to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Growing up in church and accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior at such a young age was great, but I remember not fully understanding what that meant, calling Jesus my Lord and Savior, until I was 13. I was diagnosed with Leukemia at the beginning of my 8th grade year in school, I was 13 years old. I remember the night my parents told me I had cancer being so scared, but not long after being overcome with an unexplainable peace. I knew that God was with me, I knew I was going to be okay and in the midst of that terrifying experience, I learned what it meant to truly trust in Jesus. Jesus became very real to me for the first time because I could feel His presence with me every day as I struggled through weekly chemotherapy. It wasn't long after I was diagnosed and really started to believe in Jesus as my Savior that I decided to be baptized. I was given a whole new understanding to having trust and faith in Jesus Christ and wanted to live every day of my life for Him.
I learned to have hope no matter the circumstance because I know Jesus is always with me, through the good and the bad, and ultimately has the best plan for my life and a better life with Him one day in Heaven.
