my personal testimony
Accepting Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour is a personal decision, whether growing up as a Christian or not.
I grew up as a Christian, but never grew up living as a Christian. I knew the concept of Jesus Christ dying on the cross for me but back then, it didn't have that weight that is should have over my life. I was also overcome by anger and low self-esteem due to criticisms by church members being a pastor's son.
I learned all the Bible stories as a kid. I had head knowledge of Bible characters and what they did and what God did through them. But as I grew older, it just became head knowledge. And as pressures and criticisms began to build up in my life, I allowed the enemy to take control in my life. I felt like church wasn't a place I thought it to be.
Eventually, when I couldn't take enough of all the pressures and criticisms, I realised I cannot deal with these things on my own, and that I needed God in my life. Not just head knowledge of Who He is, but have a personal relationship with the Father.
Time came when I had to move to the Philippines to take up my Bachelor's Degree. With Christ in my life, I continue to grow in Him. There are still ups and downs in my Christian walk but having accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour, I always have faith that He will see me through.
Being alone and independent wasn't easy for me to adjust to. But God was faithful to put people in my life who helped me up my feet, helped me grow spiritually, taught me how to spread the Gospel, and encouraged me during hard times in life.
With my new life in Christ, I know where I am going when I die. I don't need to fear death for I know there is eternal life after I die physically.
Your testimony matters too
