my personal testimony (12)
God's perfect love, His forgiveness, and freedom from the weight of sin, I experienced, at age 12, has kept me in pursuit of my Heavenly Father for the past 40 years. While my faithfulness has waned from time to time, HIS has not. He is a good daddy, who is faithful and does not abandon.
I am thankful I have the assurance of heaven because it brings me comfort and hope.
I remember what it was like before making that choice to follow Jesus. At the age of 12, I could feel the heaviness and weight of all the things that I knew I had done that was bad. I was also full of fear of being rejected and abandoned. Then afterwards, when I chose to make that bold declaration and was baptized. I felt that heaviness and weight lift off of me. The peace and joy of my salvation was freeing, feeling perfectly loved, forgiven, and secure. My gratitude was overwhelming.
That same peace and comfort that I experienced that day, is always waiting for me. Every day, when I pursue spending time reading the Bible and praying, He strengthens and equips me to face the challenges that come my way. I know for certain that heaven awaits because God has proven himself to be faithful and true.
