My personal story
I have been in church all of my life, but that is not what gives me eternal life.
I now have hope and real, lasting happiness that is not based on anything from this earth but is based on the finished work of the Son of God.
I am the fourth generation of my family on my mother's side to be members of our church. I had been attending church all of my life. My older brother and sister had become members of the church and been baptized at a young age. I thought it was my turn. So, I told my Mother that I wanted to become a member and be baptized and so I was. Later in my teenage years, I was asked if I could remember when I had made a decision about receiving eternal life. I could go back to when I was baptized, but not back to when I had a decision. So, I realized I needed to make the choice to receive the gift of salvation, so I confessed my sins to Christ and asked him to be my Savior and Lord of my life.
I know that I have the free gift of salvation and that I will be in Heaven someday and that can never be taken away from me.
