My Persknal
It was by His strength that I have come out of life victorious and will continue to find His victories in my life. I have been given strength that has surpassed my own understanding, strength that has helped me move away once more, have my first child, and honor Gods plan for my family’s life. I praise Him, and will continue to praise Him even among the storms.
When I received eternal life, I was freed from the prison of my sin and shame. I was given a new and purposeful identity in Christ.
College is where I experienced both the greatest depression and the greatest revival of my life. I accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at 13, but I didn’t have a mature relationship with God yet. I decide to pursue a degree at a Bible college hundreds of miles away from home. It was there that I felt the most targeted by Satan. I had always been unsure of who I was as an individual and I became very vulnerable to his attacks. I developed a serious eating disorder (consumed by the thoughts of calories, restriction, exercise), was very depressed, and eventually resorted to self-harm. Ironically, the place I was supposed to be growing deeper in my faith, I felt abandoned; my identity was distorted beyond recognition. Things become so dark that I was encourage to seek a Christian counselor. During those sessions, I was able to develop a deeper relationship with God and seek Him as refuge from all that I was experiencing. I discovered a deeper peace in connecting with God and allowing Him to be more present in my life. God provided me with a new identity, a new purpose in life. I found courage to recover from my ED and self-harm because I knew God wanted me to live a life that was free from that sin, that was His gift to me, to us all!
I now fully accept the grace God has given me and the peace that He desires for my life. I still battle thoughts of restriction, harm, depression, and anxiety from time to time, however Jesus is my life preserver. I am welcomed as a daughter to the King to seek Him without hesitation for whatever challenges or adversities life throws my way.
