My life walking with Jesus
For the past three decades, the Lord has been faithful in guiding me to make many key decisions and has opened doors to new opportunities to serve Him. Walking with Him, my life not only has meaning and purpose, but also peace of mind and thankfulness because I know He walks, and will continue to walk, with me in fellowship all my days. (Psalm 23).
Before I received eternal life, I was filled with emptiness and insecurity with respect to my future. I did not know what to do with my life.
I was interested in getting to know God, but I believed He was very distant and completely unconnected with my life.
Then I heard a sermon focused on Matthew 11:28-30, and I realized that Jesus was not only interested in my life but was inviting me to go to Him for help. Reading the Bible, I realized He needed to be my Lord and not only my Saviour, and so I asked Him into my life to give me direction.
Christ, by His guidance, has replaced my anxiety and lack of understanding about my life's meaning and purpose with direction, as well as an unexpected transformation in my character.
For example, a couple of months after becoming a Christian in Japan, a suddenly lost my job. But as I left the building where I had worked, the Lord gave me an amazing feeling of peace and assured me He'd take care of the situation. He provided me with a job teaching English in a high school within two weeks.
God has helped me to understand that He did indeed send His Son to die for MY sins, and has given me peace that I am forgiven and can look forward to heaven. I have continual peace in my heart knowing the tremendous love and grace He has for me.
