My Journey with Jesus
I accepted Christ at a young age. I understood the meaning at the time but a 4 year old can't grasp the total meaning of salvation. Since then, my life has been a journey of gaining understanding and many failures that have strengthened my Faith in Christ. My biggest challenge in life has always been my misconception that if I try hard enough I can defeat and overcome life's challenges on my own. Too often I find myself doing battle solo. Not only is this a false idea, but it is also not how God designed us to be. I am designed to seek the Lord first and allow Him to work through me. Not as a last resort but as my only option. All other ways always fail. It is still a struggle, but I now understand that I am at my best when I have spent time on my knees in His presence before I ever attempt to take on life's challenges.
Knowing where I will spend eternity is not only empowering, it is also an incredible responsibility to share this incredible news with anyone I can.
Being a follower of Jesus and having the Holy Spirit inside me gives me perspective of what really matters in life. It helps to me to keep the big picture in mind and not allow myself to fall into the traps of this world. But when I do stumble, the fact that I can cry out to Him and draw on his strength is and incredible feeling.
I know I will be in Heaven with the Father because I have asked him to come into my spirit and body. I have continued to grow close to Him and always seek his will in my life. I am never satisfied with just being a Christian. Every day I am convicted by what I can do better and how can I further the Kingdom.
