My Journey to God
I was once a person who feared the inevitable power of death. Today, I have the power of God with me to fight my fears that once held me back.
Before I came to know God and received eternal life, I remembered clearly that I've always had doubts and uncertainties about my future.
I would often think of what my life would be like 20 years later, 40 years later, or even 60 years later. All that led to just overthinking of the worst that could happen, and what would ultimately happen to me after I pass on from this Earth.
But when I got to college, I met a girl. We both shared a mutual affection for one another. From friends, we began to care more about each other. This girl was a firm believer of God, and her existence in my life was what led me to know about eternal life and ultimately receiving it.
Ever since I received the gift of eternal life, I've experienced more joy in my days here on Earth. I've learned not to fear and doubt my future, but instead I decided to put all of my trust in God alone to help me discover and fulfill my purpose in life.
I still remember several years ago before becoming a believer that I would often avoid any topics or conversations about death. It was something that I wasn't keen on talking about. I was too uncertain about what would life be like after death. But now, any discussions regarding life and death, I've grown to know more about it. Whenever I have such conversations with other people, my faith has allowed me to engage with the uncertainties of others as well.
Some of my friends who have yet to know about God and eternal life would ask me, "What made you more confident and change so much compared to the past?" The only answer that I could ever give to my friends was that God changed me. He gave me a new perspective in life. He assured me of my doubts. He assured me of my uncertainties. And if I were to die today, I am also assured that I would go to Heaven and be with God.
