My Journey to Faith

It is so comforting to know that despite my flaws and inequities, God loves me more than I can imagine. Hence, at the end of the day, I am confident in saying that my life on earth has a purpose and when my mortal journey ends, I know that I have a place in heaven.

I was born in a family where my mother is a believer and my father is a non-believer. At a young age, I was introduced to the Bible and have been attending Sunday services in a Christian church. Nevertheless, the constant spiritual tug-of war between my parents resulted in me having a run-of the-mill journey with God. Hence, during my adolescence, I had a confounded relationship with God.I believed then that knowing God is enough for me to be saved as was pointed out by my father a lot of times. So, just like some average teenagers, I lived a life where I considered God as a very distant concept but I can call on Him in times of need. After all, I was convinced that as long as I will obey His commandments, I will be fine. But God's ways are amazing such that when I entered college, He used another family member to re-introduce me to His mercy and grace. After going through a somewhat revival stage in my Christian life and having really understood the true Biblical concepts of salvation and establishing a personal relationship with God, I had my water baptism at the age of eighteen. From then on, I could say that I am not anymore confused. I began to understand that human as I am, I can never afford myself salvation because I am a sinner. Now, I know and I believe that my salvation is a gift from my gracious and merciful God to whom I should accord my faith. Moreover, I came to realize that God is a living and true God and that I should call on Him not only during the bad days but during the good times as well.

Finally, I know for certain that when my time's up, I will be with God in heaven throughout eternity for He has cleansed me and perfected me through Jesus Christ.
