My Jesus Story

Before I received eternal life, my life was filled with shame, guilt, regret, bitterness, worry.

Growing up, our parents loved us very much. But we also had to grow up where there were drugs and alcohol, domestic violence, and sinful living. After Jesus changed my parents’ lives, I kept going through the motions as if I were a child of God too. But I knew deep in my heart that I wasn’t. When I became a mother and a minister’s wife, I began to see that I needed to fully surrender my heart and life to Jesus Christ. How was I going to make a difference in my children’s lives and be the woman of God I needed to be, if I truly did not have Jesus living in my heart? After seeing an Easter drama, the Lord spoke to me so directly, and I knew at that moment that I needed to fully surrender my life to Jesus.

Then I got on my knees and cried out to God, with total surrender of my heart and life to Him, and asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior.

Since I received eternal life, my life has been a constant change taking place as the work of the Holy Spirit grows me closer to my Savior.

Prayer is such a powerful thing. I can remember so many times where I have seen God move and work in my life, and through prayer He has shown me things that just really blow me away! I have seen God answer prayer in so many ways, but even when He doesn’t answer them the way I would like, He knows what is best and He is always on time! There have been times when we did not really know where the money would come from to take care of our needs, and just continuing to trust in the Lord for His provision. Then God shows up right on time, to provide according to His will for our needs. I remember praying for my kids to surrender their hearts to Jesus, and God moved and worked in their lives to reveal himself to them, where they both surrendered their hearts to Jesus and received eternal life. Prayer is a powerful thing, and God gets all the glory!

The peace that fills my heart in knowing Jesus as my Lord and Savior, is something that is indescribable. Knowing that I have eternal life through Jesus Christ, I have no fear in death!
