My God Story

Knowing that I have eternal life assures me of both my forgiveness and significance. By giving me eternal life, God has given me a sense of fulfillment that nothing in my work, relationships, or even my marriage can equal.

As a teenager, I began seek out my own beliefs, so one evening, I asked God to reveal Himself to me. I was probably eighth or ninth grade at the time and was living with my parents, so I shut the door to my room and knelt down at my bed waiting to see God's response. Due to the fact I was a total pyromaniac as a teenager, the room was only lit with candles. As I sought God in my heart through my prayer, a stirring in my heart began like a wind and when I opened my eyes, all the candles were flickering almost to the point of being extinguished. The feeling in my heart and spirit was matched by what my physical body was registering around me. A calm yet immensely powerful "wind" was blowing around the room. As you might guess, I was pretty freaked out at first. My next thought was that this "wind" had to just be blowing in through my window, but when I checked, the window was closed! I checked the vents, there was nothing. In that moment, I knew beyond the shadow of a doubt, that God had chosen to reveal Himself to me, a regular teenage boy, that night. Ever since that moment, I have never again doubted the existence of God, and whenever the cares of the world begin to weigh on me, I remember how the God of the universe chose to reveal Himself to me. I know that I matter to Him and that I will spend eternity with Him.

This confidence has provided me with peace through difficult and trying times, but I know that God cares for me and that if I were to die today, I would get to spend the rest of eternity with Him.
