My Contentment
Though I was blessed with a family who made a priority that God and Heaven be central to my life, there have certainly been plenty of challenges to them throughout. I well know we can see clear examples that being raised in such an environment is no guarantee that this would be the case, the peace and joy I've been able to know has been a constant bedrock of support. And though, just like even the most accomplished musician hits wrong notes on occasion, I have not lived my life perfectly in tune with His composition, I am continuously reassured that with continued practice my performance will be closer and closer to His perfection and have come to know that I will enjoy that perfection one day in Heaven.
Throughout my life, I've had daily reminders of how tremendously thankful I am for God's love and acceptance and help through even the most difficult times of life.
I've felt God's calming peace in a variety of life experiences, from fumbling through just trying to talk about God with my next door neighbor when I was nine, to making the decision try to become a doctor, to staring down the barrel of a Nigerian soldier's machine gun.
I still experience that same peace and contentment every day, knowing that God is as close my next breath and that relationship will continue eternally in Heaven.
