My Confidence in God's Good Plan

I am so grateful for eternal life and the security of knowing that God is in total control of life and that He can use all circumstances for good.

I recently lost my mother after a long, hard illness. I struggled watching her decline- seeing my vibrant, creative mom fade away into someone that had to be cared for like a toddler. The end of her life seemed like a waste of the many talents that could be positively benefiting the world around her. I questioned God many times. When the day of her funeral came I was stunned at the crowd that arrived to remember her. There were people there from all parts of her life, people that she had touched, hundreds of them. Many were from her past, distant past and not so distant. What struck me most though was that there were many there from the present, the part of her life that seemed like it had been wasted. They told us how my mother had touched their lives even in her feeble state. God was using my mom in spite of her illness.

The confidence I gained in God's control of my mother's life and knowing that she is with Him in heaven bolsters my faith in His plan for me. I know that I can trust God and his promises of a life of purpose here on earth and life eternally with Him in heaven.
