My Comfort Zone Is No Match For Jesus
Busting out of my comfort zone is a continuous mini "leap of faith"... but really, trust in Jesus already has me in His hand. My leaps are kinda just hops in His hold... He's already got me, where am I gonna go? God doesn't fumble. :) ♥
I'm glad I have eternal life because of the protection and purpose God gives as well as the adventure I get to embark on with Him.
Though in some ways I can have a bit of a daredevil streak, I used to get so nervous just going to school and really intimidated being around people. By the time I graduated high school, my comfort zone had massively shrunk and it was painful to try to have a conversation with someone I didn't know. Though I was a Christian at that time, my walk looked a little more like hop-scotch and I was struggling. God found me right where I was and drew me to Him, little by little so it would stick. He pursued me in the most special way, because it was just the way I needed. A huge turning point came after a few years of attending sporadic online church services when I finally caved and followed the repeated message of "find a small group." After that, I'd say, the rest is history. I'd still describe myself as crazy quiet but I love how my life has a purpose. I have a sweet group of friends and the adventures God has taken me on through Africa and India and back home has dramatically changed my life. Senior year I wouldn't have willingly gone to a party but with God by my side, I was praying to get invited into a family's home in Ethiopia and singing "This Little Light of Mine" to little girls in India.
God is relentless in His faithfulness - because He keeps His promises to never leave me and that all things work together for good, I know I can believe Jesus and know that I will have eternal life because of what He did for me. The perfect life of Jesus rescued my messed up one and one day I will get to say "thank you" to my Savior face-to-face.
