My Assurance of Eternal Life
My life changed from one of always being fearful of the unknown beyond death, to one of happiness, certainty, and confidence in where I would spend eternity when I leave this world.
Before I received eternal life, I had a fear of death.
I was afraid of the unknown, and what lay beyond death's door
Then I found out from reading and studying the Bible that I could be sure that I would be in a far better place when I died. In fact the Bible says that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. What better place could there be than in the presence of Jesus.
Now that I am sure that I will live forever with Jesus in heaven when I die, I no longer have that former fear of death.
As a matter of fact in stead of being fearful, I often think about how wonderful eternal life with Jesus (and my loved ones who are already with Him) can be. I think of joining my mother and father in a place where there will be no more death or fear, or sorrow. I now have thoughts of a happy place; a place where I long to be.
It's a wonderful thing to know for sure that I have eternal life waiting for me in a place that Jesus has gone to prepare for me when I die.
