Mickenna's Testimony
Jesus saves
July 4th, 2021, my life was changed. This was the day I was saved. I had gotten out of a toxic abusive relationship a couple months before this. He was still sending his friends after me, he was still coming after me himself. I felt worthless, I felt drowned. I had finally stopped giving in to what they were saying about me, so I moved on.
I met a guy at my work, he was super sweet and kind. My parents liked him, he took me out of the house a couple of times. My ex got it into my head that this new guy was going to do stuff to me. Screenshots were sent to this new guy of what was said and he walked away from me. I totally get why he did. My ex wouldn’t stop harassing me. It got to the point where I hoped I didn't wake up, where I purposely took hot showers burning myself, where I got into drinking, smoking and gave in to the enemies work, I lost all my friends, I was bullying people and getting into fights. I was planning my suicide and no one knew about it.
Fast forward to July 3rd, 2021- I had a job at a restaurant as a waitress, I was making good money, my boss wasn't so nice, there was drama between me and my coworker. Anyways, it was a long boring night but hey I made money. I didn't get home until 10:30 that night. I got home, took a shower, ate dinner, watched some tv, checked my social media and then cried myself to sleep around 2am.
Fast forward to July 4th, 2021. The day I was saved. This day I will never forget. I had woken up at 6 in the morning for absolutely no reason at all. Keep in mind I slept until 11-12 because of depression and exhaustion. I tried going back to sleep and I did, I fell into a light sleep. 9am came around and my sister knocked on my door “Kenna, you going to church” is what she said. Something in me helped me jump out of bed, get dressed, eat breakfast, do my hair and my makeup in less than 10 minutes. Next thing you know I was in the car on my way to church.
We get to this church and I'm stunned by how large it is and how many people were there. Everyone was so welcoming, it just felt like home. We get to our seats and I'm just like yeah cool its church. The singers come on and start singing. I get into music. Next thing you know I’m balling my eyes out, the holy spirit touched me and my life was changed. One of the singer said “whatever burdens you came in here with today, whatever thoughts of suicide, depression, anger, anxiety you have, leave them at the door because theyre not welcome anymore, youre in the fathers house” This is when I knew there was something much more out there. God touched my heart. We get through service and they come back up and do some more worship songs, I feel the holy spirit touch me again. I grabbed the pastor who spoke after service and I thanked her. I told her how I had planned on taking my life and how I was an atheist up until that morning. She hugged me and said “You were the one I prayed for this morning, god told me to pray that someone's life would be saved, that he would find his way in someone new this morning” I couldn't get over it.
August 8th, 2021 I got baptized, I asked for a sign to get baptized. I had work the night before. I went into work that day expecting a regular shift. It's about an hour or two in and I have a table cashing out. I complimented her shirt because it said faith and I liked it. She asked what size I wore so I told her and she gave me the exact same shirt. Another sign I got, I was going to collect my tip from a table and there was a bible verse left with the tip I received. So I didn't only get one sign but two signs from God to get baptized. Now to this day I’ll never forget these days, I’m now a church singer following my singing dreams, one of my best friends is the pastor's daughter and the two others attend this church. I live for God, worship music is my life, I thank God everyday that I wake up. I talk to him and that's why I'm sharing this testimony because he told me that it's going to change a life around and I need to share it before it's too late. I write bible verses on cards and place them around hoping other lives are changed. I attend a youth group every Thursday and I attend church service every morning. I’ve met some amazing people on my journey and I cannot wait to see what our wonderful God has in store for me and you reading this <3
