Micah's Personal Testimony
Jesus became my Lord and Savior and rescued me from a life of doubt, recklessness and pride. I was adopted and had some abandonment issues for a time. However, not only did He rescue me from my earthly family situation by giving me a new adopted family, he also adopted me into the family of God.
Before I received eternal life I was full of guilt and shame and continually thought I could fix my own problems. I was on a continual cycle of failure trying to control my own life and I was being negatively influenced by others who were not following the Lord.
I remember a time when I was in high school and I was at a party. I should not have been there and I was drinking and partying with the wrong crowd. I remember hearing a knock at the door and someone answered and in walked my step Dad and my Grand Dude. I was horrified that they saw me there in that place in that condition but at the same time I remember feeling loved that they cared enough to come get me from that place and take me home.
Then one day the Pastor at the local First Baptist Church came to our home. Everyone got saved. Brother Max was a big burly man, with huge hands and a great big smile to match. I remember thinking, whatever he has, I want it. He led me in a prayer and I accepted that Jesus paid the price for all of my sin, and that there was nothing I could do to make it right with God apart from Him. I was Baptised in the Church shortly thereafter and began my life with Christ.
Since accepting Jesus and making him Lord of my life, I have had all of my shame replaced with joy. All of my doubt and fear has been replaced with His Peace. The plans I had for my life have been replaced with God's will and Jesus has been made Lord of my Heart.
When I was 12 I climbed a tree in our backyard just because it was there. When I got to the top I remember thinking that I should be careful so that I do not fall. I briefly let go of the branches to wave to my Mom and Step Dad and I heard cracking of branches and then I fell. The Doctor said I was lucky to only have broken my leg since I fell over 30 feet. The branches along the way had broken my fall and I realized at that point I was being watched over by God.
The full life that is offered in Jesus through the forgiveness of sin and the peace that comes with that knowledge as well as the assurance that I will be with Jesus forever in Heaven give me such Joy to willingly give my life for Him.
