Mercy found me in my misery
Mercy can find you even in your darkest hour.
Before I received eternal life, my life was driven by selfish desires and empty pursuits that left me without true purpose or lasting peace.
Before I received eternal life, I can clearly see how anger controlled me—especially after my mom passed. I remember carrying that grief in a way that turned into frustration and bitterness. Little things would set me off, and I found myself reacting harshly to people who really had nothing to do with what I was feeling. Instead of dealing with the pain, I buried it, and it came out as anger in my words, my attitude, and even in how I treated others. Looking back, I wasn’t at peace—I was hurting, and that hurt was shaping how I lived day to day.
My life as going nowhere until I had a real encounter with the lord Jesus Christ. He came into my life during a time when I was overwhelmed with anger and hurt after losing my mom, and when I turned to Him, He met me right where I was and began to replace my pain with His peace and my anger with His love.
Since receiving eternal life through Jesus Christ, the anger and emptiness that once controlled me have been replaced with a deep sense of peace, purpose, and healing, allowing me to live with a renewed heart, respond to others with love instead of frustration, and walk daily with the assurance that God is guiding me and sustaining me through every situation.
I can see this change clearly in how I now handle difficult moments. There was a time not too long ago when something would have easily triggered that same anger I used to carry, but instead of reacting out of frustration, I found myself pausing, praying, and responding with patience. In that moment, I realized I wasn’t the same person anymore—God had truly done a work in my heart. Where I once held onto pain, I now felt peace. Where I once reacted harshly, I was able to show grace. It reminded me that His presence in my life didn’t just change what I believe, but it changed how I live and how I respond every day.
In the end, my life stands as evidence that real change is possible through Jesus Christ. What grief and anger once tried to destroy, God has restored with peace, purpose, and power. I am no longer defined by my pain or controlled by my past, but I am walking in the new life He has given me. This transformation is not something I achieved on my own—it is the result of His grace working in me daily. And because of that, I now live with confidence, knowing that the same God who brought me through my darkest moments will continue to lead me, sustain me, and use my story for His glory.
