Manu Testimony
God is our answer in whatever circumstances we are going through.
I was born in a Christian family and my father was a church minister. I did not want anything to do with the church because I saw a lot of hypocrisy in church leadership and the way my dad suffered in their hands. I had anger issues and had very vulgar language. I had my own idea on how to live as a "good" person.
I remember how much mistrust I had on anybody who said that they are saved. I would immediately shut my mind to anything else they could say. This was emphasised when I went to a boarding school in High school.
I heard a preaching that was not very interesting but I felt that I need to live a life that is right with the teachings of Jesus and believe in Him. I went to the front of the chapel and prayed to God to forgive me my sins.
After the prayer, I stopped the vulgar language without my effort and I started reading the word of God and praying. This helped me to forgive and believe in what the Bible says.
I remember going with my dad to pray for a family friend who had throat cancer due to smoking. In the 1980s cancer was more difficult to treat than now. When my dad prayed for our family friend, there was peace in his face despite the pain and the "death sentence" in his life. I later understood that God has a better place for us who love Him and walk in His way.
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. When we are in the world we can walk in the way of Jesus. When we need truth, we can find it in the words of Jesus. We can get eternal life from Jesus when we leave this world.
