Madisson's Story
Following Jesus gives me genuine joy and excitement for the future. I know I can look unto Jesus in any circumstance, remember the suffering he endured on our behalf, and not lose heart.
I'm grateful for the eternal promises of God because they give me strength to do good works in this life and hope for the shalom that awaits in heaven.
I remember being younger and striving so hard to please and impress others. My desire to put on a perfect performance made me selfish and myopic, and left me with guilt and shame when I tarnished my perfect image. I equated Christianity with moral perfection and didn't understand or know how to receive grace. When I really encountered Christ, I experienced such freedom in self-forgetfulness and was able to love and serve others in a more Christlike way.
Jesus gave me the grace to see that a life in pursuit of Him is the most purposeful, joyful, and adventurous life possible. The spiritual blessings that we have as children of God point to an inheritance that can't spoil or fade, and a hope that can't be taken away, no matter the circumstances of life. Knowing that I can't do anything to earn God's love frees me to do the good works he has prepared for me with humility. Not I, but the grace of God that is within me.
