Madeline's Personal Testimony
Before I received eternal life, I had a fear of dying. I was 6 years old when a close and beloved little cousin was hit by a car and died. Also around that time, my grandmother who helped to raise me, got sick and died of cancer. This left me with a fear of death which lasted into my young adulthood. A friend shared with me how I could have peace with God and know for sure that I was on my way to heaven. This friend and I had seen the movie, "Jesus Christ Superstar", and that led to a discussion of religion, the way we live, and death. Neither of us had answers. A few days later, my friend called and told me he had a coworker who shared with him that he could know for sure that he was going to heaven. That day my friend received the gift of eternal life. He went on to tell me more, and that night I also made that decision in my life. Now that I have eternal life, I no longer fear death. I was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago, and though I was anxious about the treatment, and perhaps being sick, I was not afraid to die. I knew that if I did, I would be in heaven with God. Better yet, I try every day to live to say "Thank You" to God for the life I have, which includes peace with Him. And that includes heaven!
