LOVE NEVER FAILS

My inability to live up to my own desire to be the best wife and mother. My lack of wisdom to deal with the day to day grind of life. Life was burdensome. I was seeking and at the same time trying to provide a love that never fails.

Day in and day out I would give it my all to my family. Providing a loving home, cooking, cleaning, listening, playing and working. I worked hard, so that I could help my husband to provide the best for our children. I was a dedicated person and I was good at what I did. However I find myself constantly being disappointed. There was always something lacking, as nothing worked perfectly. In reality I failed all the time.

Then there was 14th February 1995. It was the day in our country that people celebrated Valentine's Day. A friend of mine told me of how they have invited a couple to go with them to a Valentine's dinner organized by a church and that they have cancelled on the last minute. I immediately volunteered to take their place. Once again I was hoping to give a love that never fails. I made all the arrangements regarding a babysitter and everything else required for us to attend this dinner. My husband and I attended the dinner and was fascinated by an atmosphere of love. We started to attend the church's Sunday morning, evening services and Wednesday bible studies. On 27th August 1995 the Sunday morning sermon was from 1 Peter 3. The verse that convicted me was "for the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers". That's when I knew and confessed that I am not righteous. God revealed to me my condition and showed me how I can be righteous and life forever.

I do not need to wonder what truth is, I know what truth is and I lack no wisdom.

I am unshakeable in so many ways. I lost my Dad and my Mom. My faith and knowledge that God loves me with an everlasting love has given me the contentment to trust Him with all things. After all He created this universe, it lacks nothing and it's beautiful and has order. He has comforted me and provided me with an inner peace that I have never had before.

The truth is why I know for sure I'm going to heaven. It's not what I believe, it's not my faith it is the truth. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me". Jesus is the only person that gave his life for His enemies and He is the only one who rose from the dead. My faith has evidence to back it up. My life has been changed since I believed in Jesus Christ. I will take this life anytime over the one I had before Jesus.
