Long time coming
My baptism has been a long time coming, but today I am overjoyed to have taken this step in my personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
I am so grateful to accept the Lords gift of eternal life because it brings me peace and comfort.
Growing up, my parents and I attended church just about every Sunday. I always knew, even as a child, that God was with our family and carried us through good and bad times. When I was old enough to go away to camp, away from home and the daily comforts, I realized that Christs love was real. I accepted Him as my savior when I was about 8 years old. My parents gave me the choice about baptism when I was young. I have never been the most it going person, so I did not feel comfortable standing in front of the congregation at my church and making this personal declaration so public. As an adult, the Lord has called my heart to want to do this for Him. I feel at peace and more than ready to proclaim my love for Christ.
Time and time again the Lord has shown me that He is walking with me. I know in my heart that someday I will look apon His face. Even though I have sinned time and again, I want to show Him that in this lifetime, I never gave up trying to always put Him first.
