"Lieutenant, I Can't Get a Pulse"!

Before I received eternal life my life was empty and without purpose.

Even though I was an athlete in college, popular on campus, the "life of the party" and outwardly happy and fulfilled, deep inside my life was empty. I was wearing a mask; playing a game.

Then several friends, over time, began to share with me how I could have eternal life; a meaningful, purpose filled life!

Now that I have eternal life, my life has purpose, fulfillment and joy. I no longer have to play a game or wear a mask to make people think I am OK. I know I have purpose and meaning...I have eternal life!

I remember several years ago, while at home alone, I had an allergic reaction that caused me to go into anaphylactic shock. My body was rapidly beginning to shut down...I was dying! I crawled to the office in my home to try to call for help. By God's grace the 911 call went through. When the paramedics arrived I was fading fast. I heard one of the men say as they were working on me, "Lieutenant, I can't get a pulse." I thought, well, check the other arm, as far as I know I'm still here. In that moment I had what I can only describe as the "peace of God that passes understanding".

I knew, even if I died there on my office floor, I had eternal life!
