Lasting peace and joy
I am forever thankful for God and his influence in my life. He has guided me through difficult times and has blessed me through my peaceful times. I am grateful that I know, should anything happen to me, I have the gift of eternal life. He has helped my find an identity in myself.
On a daily basis I am astounded and overwhelmed by God's love, peace, forgiveness and joy. He has provided for me in a number of ways, day in and day out. It is because of how real He is and how I experience Him that I know I have eternal life.
I remember in high school going through a difficult time, questioning my sexuality. Wondering if I am gay or not. It was at that time that I was also able to finally respond to a call in my Church for people to pray for us going through a difficult time. I am grateful that the Holy Spirit prompted me to go and get prayed for. I didn't even have to say anything, when my pastor prayed for me he sensed through the Holy Spirit what difficulties I was experiencing and prayed into my life over the right areas. I am extremely thankful that I was able to respond to the call.
Since then I have had multiple encounters where I have experienced not only God, but his goodness, forgiveness, mercy and grace. Through these encounters my faith and belief is renewed everytime that I am saved and have the gift of eternal life.
