Jesus Christ is Indeed My Lord & Savior

I have been a Christian almost all my life but I came to the realization that I have eternal life and that eternal life is free, only this year (2015). I came to this knowledge through prayer for truth, through a deliberate and consistent effort to study the word of God, by self, with others and with an interrogating mind. This realization was exhilarating. I am so glad I now know for sure I have eternal life and that it has been given to me freely and that if I should die today I will go to Heaven because of my belief in Jesus Christ and God's grace. Although I continue to strive to be perfect as Christ is perfect and although I make a deliberate effort to live a life which witnesses to my belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I worry less about not being able to live a sinless life as I now know that it is not by works that I am saved but by the grace of God. Knowing that through grace I am forgiven and saved makes a difference; it gives me a sense of hope, security and comfort. Additionally, knowing that if I should die today I am assured of a place in Heaven, significantly decreases my fear of death. I still grapple however with how amazing this gift of God is...it's just incredible that someone would do this for you and for me. It also raises the question then --why do others refuse to believe in Jesus Christ, refuse to accept this gift and endeavor to live a life which testifies that indeed Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of your life. It is not difficult to get into Heaven as it is not by works but through trust and grace.

Living a life which witnesses to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life definitely comes with benefits, some of which I know about and some of which were effected in my life without me knowing. Deliberately making everyday choices which translate into a declaration that Jesus Christ indeed Lord of my life has saved me from so my evils e.g. early death, disease, accident, and worry. This confirms the wages of sin is indeed death but the gift of God is eternal life. I am therefore truly grateful.

God is a part of my everyday life. I consult and talk with Him about everything - this includes simple requests - please help me to get a parking space. Without Him I am nothing. Following Him I am everything. Trusting in His son, Jesus Christ, my brother in God, I have everything that is eternal.
