Jason Lineberger’s Story
I was raised in a Christian home. I became ensnared in a shameful sin. Jesus sent friends to help me. I became free and now get to help others get free.
I grew up in an amazing Christian family. I was in church at least 3 times a week every week as a child. I was baptized at 7 and probably trusted Christ as much as a young child could. However as I became a teenager I was introduced to pornography and it changed my life for the worse.
Even though I was called into ministry I had this sin in my life that followed me into college. There was so much shame and I had to hide it from everyone. I felt like a liar and hypocrite and even though I knew God loved me I didn’t feel worthy of that love.
However Jesus loved me and wasn’t finished with me. I lived in a CCF house and the guys there discovered my sin and walked with me in healing. They didn’t judge me but they helped me find freedom in Jesus. That confirmed my ministry calling. I wanted to help others experience what I experienced. I learned that no one can walk the Christian life alone. I was forgiven and changed by Jesus!
I have found such value, peace, and freedom in knowing Jesus and being free from sin.
I still have to fight the desires of my flesh everyday but Jesus has used my past shame as a part of my testimony in helping others. Because I know what its like to feel surrounded by darkness and to hate something in me that I couldn’t get free of without help, I now have integrity in encouraging others who are going through similar things in their life. Its been such a blessing!!
Its exciting to be a part of the work of heaven here on earth now and everyday I get to see little and large things that Jesus is doing to bring people close to Him but I know if today were my last day I would forever be with my God. No greater peace and power than that!!
Your testimony matters too
