It's Not Up to Me
I viewed my value based on my abilities as a college football player - and experienced doubt, fear and unworthiness. Jesus showed me that my value lies in His loving me with no strings attached - and that I could trade in my insecurities for his acceptance, forgiveness and promise of eternal life.
Before I received eternal life I felt very insecure and had little contentment - I felt that my value was mainly dependent on my performance as an athlete.
I remember basing my self-worth on how I performed on the football field with my happiness dependent on the praises of criticisms of my coaches.
I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ and received forgiveness and eternal life.
I knew that no matter my performance or how people viewed me, that Jesus loved me and accepted me merely for who I am.
I have found that no matter what situation I may be in that I can always find joy and contentedness because of God's love for me. This has included death of my parents deployment in a military invasion to the loss of jobs.
The knowledge that Christ loves me for who I am, has promised that He will never stop loving me and has prepared a place for me to be with him for eternity has made all the difference in the world in my life. I live life with assurance, peace and joy.
