In My Weakness...
Through my brokenness, I have been put back together even stronger than before by someone who I know is real. How could I deny the peace I feel time and time again? There is only one answer for me, and that is Jesus Christ.
I am thankful for eternal life because I know God will walk with me step by step and make me strong through my weaknesses.
Honestly, I have felt weak in many instances and God has revealed his character and strength to me in pretty much every one of them. Most of them have to do with my relationships with others. After a break-up that I never thought would have happened, I was heartbroken and felt almost like I had been rejected. I guess I should have seen it coming. But, this was my first dating relationship and I had high hopes for it to last. Long story short, I had to give up the relationship because it was not compatible with the futures he and I had in plan. There were so many thoughts and emotions that constantly flooded my mind. It's not easy to leave someone you still love. This was one of the times in my life when I felt at my weakest. I started praying constantly with tears rolling down my face, begging God to just heal my heart. It felt like the best thing to do. The morning after we broke up, I sat up in my bed and decided to turn on the K-Love radio station. A few songs played and I sat there listening, hoping to find some peace. The next thing I knew, the song "All This Time" by Britt Nicole came on. These are the lyrics I heard, "Every heartache and failure, every broken dream, You're the God Who sees, the God Who rescued me...All this time, from the first tear cried 'til today's sunrise and every single moment between, You were there, You were always there. It was You and I. You've been walking with me all this time." At that point, I just started crying. I decided to go on a short walk after I got up, just to think things through. When I was walking, I listened to that same song over and over again and started to soak in God's peace. I even pictured Him walking right beside me with his arm over my shoulder. It was an amazing experience. God KNOWS our hurt and He saves us when we are completely broken. His love alone is unconditional and He will always, always be there to catch us when we fall and carry us in His arms. God has brought so much good out of this situation and I can honestly say that in this very moment as I'm typing this, I am thankful He brought me into it and through it. Jesus is my first love. He will always be. I think He was just trying to remind me of that. :)
God's peace is undeniable. I can't sit here today and tell you that I am uncertain about my salvation because I certainly am not. When I experience His peace, when He continually shows me that He is there for me, there is no question as to whether or not He exists. He IS real. He loves us more than we could ever comprehend. He is our someone when we feel like we have no one else. Where in the world would I be if I didn't have Him? Far far away from where I am today, that's for sure.
