I'll be singing and dancing and chanting for the rest of eternity.
I sit in heaven so I laugh.
I was battling Mental health ,prostitution and lost my love for music
I had been sexually abused as a child and witnessed normalized sexual immorality. I became interested in what I could earn with my body and eventually started making money from it. I started using the gift of music for seduction and evil. I couldn't stand hearing myself sing anymore.
There was a night when I had reached my breaking point. I was consumed by shame and self-disgust, and the pain felt unbearable. Honestly, I wanted to give up. In desperation, I cried out, "Whoever is in charge, I need you to do something—and make it clear who it's coming from." In that moment, memories of times when I thought I was alone came flooding back, but now I could see the light of Jesus with me. I felt his presence, showing me that he had always been there and was with me even now. Through tears, I asked him to help me leave Dallas. The very next day, my mother—who I rarely spoke with or lived with—unexpectedly called. She said something had urged her to enroll me in college, and that I could move to Marshall, Texas, by the weekend.
Now that I have eternal life I know that my identity is in jesus and not my body or My own knowlege. My gifts are not for my glory but for the glory of god.
I met my husband that same year. We got married in 2023 and transferred to East Texas Baptist University together. I will graduate this upcoming December with a BA in University Studies(education focus), and I look forward to continuing my work with Mentoring Alliance and serving the Kingdom of God in whatever capacity He calls me to. Ive been singing and learning new instruments reclaiming The voice the enemy tried to silence and prevert.
The path has not been easy, but I thank God for His peace that surpasses all understanding and His sovereignty. I know that my steps are not my own, but in Christ alone I have been redeemed and can do all things.
Your testimony matters too
