I have purpose

Before I received eternal life, I was always trying to find out why I was here. I felt empty and with out purpose and sought to find my purpose.

I remember just sitting and observing the scenes of a day, the hustle and bustle of life and thinking "Why am I here?"

I was invited to a bible camp where the preacher taught us that Satan had a plan to destroy us but God also has a plan for our lives. He taught that God sent Christ to die for my sins and save me from hell. This simple message touched me and I prayed and received Christ as my saviour. I now understood that God created me and had a plan for my life.

I now know that I have a purpose. I am not just waiting for life to happen to me. I am not looking for purpose and self worth in material things. My worth, my value and my purpose is found in my relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

In high school there was always a clique everyone wanted to be a part of or trends that all teens wanted to follow. However, I never felt pressured to be a part of it all because I knew the Lord and was confident in who I was. I never fit in to the culture and I was comfortable with this because of my relationship with the Lord.

There was a time in my christian walk though I had received Christ as my saviour, I was not confident that I had eternal life. The Holy Spirit made this truth real to me and helped me to understand that the work of and the work for eternal life was COMPLETED by Christ on the cross and when I received him I received the completed work. This is so profound! I no longer waver with the doctrines and slates of men, I am confident that I have eternal life. I look forward to being in the presence of God where there is no sickness, pain, loss nor death. Hallelujah!
