I am still standing.
God puts us through difficult times to come out of them stronger. In my case, my dark times ultimately lead me to a loving relationship with Jesus. Even in the darkest of times Jesus is with you and loves you.
Before I found Jesus and received eternal life, I was negative, angry, empty in heart, full in guilt, and mentally and physically unhealthy.
In 1992 my wife Terry passed away after a 6 week illness. At that point in time, while I didn't blame God ( because I was not close enough to him to blame him), I was angry, broken hearted, and riddled with guilt because I couldn't" fix" it for my boys. I was in auto pilot to survive and felt nothing but stress, anxiety, and negativity.
In 2010 and my journey with Jesus began when I started attending Crossroads Grace Church, listening to the sermons there and becoming open to Christ.
Now that I have eternal life and Jesus, I have no more guilt, negativity, anxiety and I am mentally and physically fit.
My life has taken a positive 180 degree turn since allowing Jesus into my life. I started a new job, new marriage, new relationships with my sons and people close to me, new confidence, serving at church and seeing life so clearly now.
I know that Jesus loves me, is with me all the time and is always watching over me. I trust the Bible and it says if you accept Jesus, you will receive eternal life. That is enough for me to believe I am going to heaven when I die.
