I Am Saved! God Spared Me!

I grew up singing in a Gospel choir. One song we sang was, "I Know I'm Saved". I remember telling a fellow choir member that one day I was gonna really believe that. I know that God is always with me even in those instances that I can't explain or understand. He's still God!

In 1995, I was in graduate school, completing my last assignment. I was also very busy at work. I didn't realize how tired I was. Before the end of the week, I was in the hospital with pneumonia. I stayed there for 14 days. Someone told me that the obituaries in the newspaper during that time listed several people who died from pneumonia. I am grateful that God spared me.

I knew that if I didn't leave the hospital and return to my physical home, that I would leave it and go to my heavenly home because "I am saved!"
