Hope, Peace and Purpose in Life
I know that I am one of God's children and that He has a purpose for ALL that we go through in life. I have joy and peace knowing that I have purpose and that God is in control of ALL things that I have experienced and am experiencing right now. There is no way that I would have this contentment if I had to find it within myself. It can only come from a greater being--His name is Jehovah, the great I AM.
How do I know I have eternal life? Because I have peace and a purpose in life.
Now that I am older, I can look back in my "rear view mirror" of life and see all the many peaks and valleys on my journey and be at peace knowing that God is working out ALL the good and bad things in my life for a purpose. More recently, our family has been going through many trials and attacks from the enemy. It seems that they have been more intense since we took a step of faith to make a difference in a young girl's life and adopt her. Since then we have had so many physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual struggles within our family. When one fiery dart of the enemy is extinguished another one is on its way. I believe it is because we are on the front lines of the battle seeking to make a difference in God's kingdom by sharing His gospel of truth, love and hope to young people. The enemy wants to destroy marriages, families and especially young people. I am at peace knowing that what the enemy intends for evil, God can use for good. Revelation 12:11 says that the people of the tribulation OVERCAME the accuser, Satan, by the blood of the Lamb and because of the WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY. I claim the truth that we are OVERCOMERS and scripture which says, greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I am confident that all my family and I are experiencing is to make us stronger as a family so that we can be an even more powerful witness for Him. All of it is for a divine purpose so I can THANK Him even in the trials.
There is no way I could have such peace and joy and such a strong sense of purpose from within myself. Those can only come from someone much bigger than me. There is only one possibility--God's spirit dwelling in me. The Bible says the only way the spirit can live in someone is if they are born of God. I believe the Bible and I believe the Spirit bears witness in my spirit that I am one of God's children. His word is alive in my life and it is my daily sustenance. I desire His manna and His water and His people. I believe those all confirm that I have eternal life and will one day be in heaven with my God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
