Hope and Peace

Having eternal life from God gives me hope and peace even when I face hard things in life.

There was a time in my life where I was really struggling with fear and anxiety. It was really hard. There were times when I didn’t even want to get out of bed. But as I kept reading God’s word day after day, He reminded me of some key promises that are true for me because I am His child - He loves me, He has forgiven me, and I can trust Him.

He showed me He loved me by giving His own Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sin. (John 3:16) I know that He has forgiven me because I have admitted that I’m a sinner (Romans 3:23) and I believe that Jesus came to pay for my sin as only He could. (Colossians 2:14; John 14:6; 1 John 1:9). And I know I can trust Him because Jesus didn’t stay dead. He raised from the dead showing that He has power even over death. If He has power over that what can He not handle for me? And because I believe all of this I know that He is with me now (Matthew 28:20) and that I will live with Him in heaven someday. (John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9)
