Greg's journey to faith in Jesus
I was raised in a protestant denomination and even went through the confirmation process at the church when I was 12 years old. I went because my parents took me and I had no genuine interest in church or God. After graduating from high school I joined the US Navy and then got married and was stationed in Hawaii. At that time my life could be best summed up as a vulgar, selfish, self-indulgence, alcohol driven existence with little care for anyone else. One Easter Sunday my wife decided to attended services at a local Congregational Church and I went along so I would not have to sit at home by myself. We met the pastor and he asked if he could visit us. So for the next three Thursday nights he would come over and talk to us about the bible and Jesus. To this day I don’t remember a single thing he said except on the last Thursday night when he asked my wife and me to kneel down at our coffee table and ask Jesus to come into our hearts. We did and that is when Jesus became real to me. My life changed, almost immediately I stopped swearing and cursing, suddenly I had an interest in helping and serving in the church and attending bible studies. It was not long after that we started giving regularly and attending church every Sunday. I no longer have a need or desire for alcohol. Since that time we have always been involved and serving in a local church no matter where we were. I am still not all Jesus wants me to be, but because of His grace I am certainly not who I once was. Thank goodness He is still changing me every day and following and serving Jesus is the most important thing in my life.
Before I received eternal life I was completely self-centered with little or no care for anyone else.

A pastor from a local church shared with me how to have eternal life and prayed to have Jesus come into my life and he did.
Now I have eternal live and care about other people.

The best part is whether I help others or not I have relationship with Jesus and will see him face to face someday in heaven.
