Goldie's Story

Before I received eternal life, my world was filled with fear, worries and just an overall feeling of despair.

I can remember keeping a bag packed in case we were leaving again - we left the situation many times, the immediate danger, but the feeling of dread never left.

My older brother took me to a church service, and the pastor's wife that evening talked about the peace that passes all understanding that is mentioned in the Bible, and that sounded so good! It made me remember a time when I was very little going to Mrs. Weatherford's Sunday School class and how loved and secure I felt there. It would be many years later before I really turned my life over to God and found that peace, but I thank Mrs. Weatherford and Miss Wanda for planting those seeds of hope so deep in my heart.

Now that I have eternal life, I no longer live in despair, no matter what comes into my life, I have a peace and know for sure where my hope comes from!

One evening at a revival service, something the pastor said made me realize why I didn't yet have that elusive peace - I was a good person, but I had never given God control of my life. I wanted something from Him but had not yet given him my heart. What a change! Would like to know how I finally received this gift?

Now I know for certain, whether I have a bag packed or not, that if I died tonight I'd be in Heaven!
