God's healing.
God saves
I'm glad I have eternal life because I know God saves.
Through the highs and lows, I've came to realize that Jesus is the best thing ever. Back in seventh grade, all I wanted to do was fit in. I moved to a new school with no new friends, and I was all alone. I was so alone that if someone wanted to do something bad I would do it for the sake of having just one friend. And that’s what happened. I was in the locker room waiting to play my basketball game and I made a bad decision that could impact my future. I saw a fire extinguisher and sprayed it all over the wall. I didn’t know I broke the law that day. Once I made that decision everything changed. I was suspended for a long time from school, and I couldn’t talk to my friends. My parents would think of me as the worthless and useless child, and they couldn’t even look me in the eyes. My mom told me she hated me and my dad would ignore me if I asked anything. For the holidays that passed I wouldn’t receive anything because I didn’t deserve it but, all I could think about were my friends. But were my friends really my friends? After a couple of weeks into my suspension, I realized that I was recorded by one of my friends, and she showed it to the principal. I didn’t know if I should cuss this girl out or talk to her about it. I didn’t think any of that would’ve changed anything, so I went to church. This was the first time since my communion that I had been to church and I didn’t know what to do, but I realized something in one of Fr. Patrick’s homilies that God was my friend. My best friend. I needed the sweet friendship of Jesus. I didn’t need fake friends to lead me into bad decisions. This realization changed everything for me. With God’s guidance, I began to rebuild my life, focusing on His love and teachings. I learned that true friends are those who lift you up, not bring you down. More importantly, I discovered my self-worth through Christ’s never-ending love. I opened my Bible one day and I randomly flipped to Proverbs and, the first verse I saw was Proverbs 27:9 saying, A sweet friendship refreshes the soul. I thank the Lord every day for giving me a beautiful life with my relationship with him still growing.
God can help and he will.
