God, my Healer and Savior

I thank God He called me and saved me, with His free gift of eternal life, through Jesus Christ my Lord. Because He lives and paid my sin debt, I can look forward to eternity in heaven with God. That alone is the source of my joy. When I face trials, this assurance gives me strength, the ability to trust God no matter what happens, and His peace and comfort in all circumstances.

I grew up going to church and I believed in God. It was an intellectual faith, more in my mind, than my heart. In college, I grew in my faith and began to believe in my heart, trusting in Christ alone for my eternal life. When I was 28, I was diagnosed with brain cancer. I was scared. Cancer was my number one fear. God helped me to see that He would walk with me through it all and would either heal me or take me to heaven to be with Him, an even better outcome. He took away my fear. That was a great relief, and I was able to have peace. He healed me! I've been cancer-free since February 2005!

That same assurance He gave me when facing cancer I still have today. I know without a doubt that I will be with Him some day. I can't wait. As Paul said, "to live is Christ and to die is gain ."
