God is keeping His promise to me!
Jesus died in my place so my sin could be forgiven and I would have eternal life as a member of His family!
Before I received Jesus and His gift of eternal life I was filled with guilt and insecurity, I was always looking for peace.
Every time I heard about sin, death, or punishment for sin I was fearful and would respond to the invitation to have Jesus forgive my sins. I had no assurance that I was forgiven and at peace with God through the gift of Jesus paying for my sins. I was overwhelmed with the knowledge that I sinned everyday and thought I needed to "get saved" again every day!
Then I heard a message about "the 2 sides of the cross" the side before being forgiven and given eternal life and a new beginning, a relationship with Jesus Christ. The other side of the cross; after receiving Jesus's gift of forgiveness of all my sins; past, present, and even future, because He loves me and died to pay for my sins. He also gave me eternal life and I am adopted into His family forever!! I responded to the invitation to begin this new life He gave me!
I left the service that morning with peace and joy in my heart and full assurance that my debt of sin was totally paid in full. I was eternally secure in Jesus's family! I know for sure that I have eternal life, that cannot be taken from me by anyone or anything!
From that day onward, I have never feared that I would have to face an angry God and I have never doubted His promise of complete forgiveness and that nothing could come between me and His love for me. I have peace about having eternal life from that day onward. If I die today I will immediately be with Jesus in Heaven for ever; eternal life!!
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. Who did Jesus die for? He died for ME!!! "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." Romans 10:9&10 ESV. I Know God is keeping His promise of forgiveness and eternal life to me!!
