God is Gracious
I depend on God for everything. I trust Him completely with my life. I love Him with all of my heart, mind and soul and I want to live a life that pleases Him.
Before I received eternal life I had low self esteem and never seemed to measure up. I spent a lot of time reading scripture and making lists of do's and don'ts trying to live my life by those list. I could never measure up to those list and felt very frustrated. Not feeling worthy of God's love but when I realized that God loved me unconditionally and that I didn't have to do those things on my own and that God would help me become the person He wanted me to be I felt such peace and hope.
I was at home alone one night and really felt God impressing on me that I needed to surrender to Him completely, so I got on my knees and I asked God to forgive me of my sin and to help me be the person He wanted me to be. To come into my life and change me. And He did.
Once I gave my heart to God I begin to live differently. Asking God for direction and wisedom. Asking Him to help me overcome my low self esteem and allow Him to change me.
Now that I have eternal life, I have learned to love myself and to accept that I am fearfully and wonderfully made in God's image. That has allowed me to see other's differently as well and to love them as Christ loves them.
When I was 37 I had an ovarian tumor that was possibly cancerous and it was a very scary time. I had to wait a whole month after I found out about it to have surgery. I just prayed and asked God to help me accept whatever the outcome was. He helped me through that month and gave me peace. I also had the assurance that I would spend eternity with Him, so I could rest in Him and trust Him with the outcome. The surgery was successful and the tumor was benign. Thank God!!
I knew then and I know today that if I were to die today that I would go to spend eternity with God in heaven. God has given me that assurance through His word where He tells us that those who believe in the Son of God may know that they have eternal life.
Your testimony matters too
