God Heard My Cry

Before I received eternal life, something was missing. Though I was talented, successful, and friendly, I was lonely and lacked purpose in my life. I was trying to be good, but the harder I tried not to sin, the more I sinned

I remember one night standing on the balcony of my dorm, looking up into the starry sky and crying out to God in search of Him or something to fill the emptiness and loneliness of my heart.

A few weeks later a friend showed me from the Bible how I could have eternal life. Was this what I was searching for? Was God answering my cry? Eventually my doubts and scepticism gave way to understanding and faith, and I received the glorious gift of eternal life!

Now that I have eternal life, the Lord has filled my life with joy and purpose. The fellowship I now have with the Lord and in my church has completely filled the emptiness and has satisfied the loneliness and longings of my heart, and greatest of all, my sins are forgiven - ALL of them!

My wife and I are now facing the greatest difficulty of our lives: my wife has a terminal illness and is bedridden. Though I am often overwhelmed and saddened by her suffering, she is strong in the Lord and confident of her eternal destiny. The gift of eternal life and all of its benefits are now even more vital and comforting than we had previously experienced. The Lord and our church fellowship are filling the gap. My wife has eternal life, so she is anticipating with peace and joy seeing her Savior and Lord face to face. She has no fear of death because she knows for certain she will soon be in heaven.

Like my wife, since I have received eternal life, I also know that if I were to die right now, I would go to Heaven to be with my Lord forever. I'll see my lovely wife there too, along with many other relatives and friends who have also, by faith received eternal life. God truly heard and answered my cry.
