God Gives Meaning and Fulfillment

I am glad I have eternal life because I can find meaning and fulfillment. Even though I have many desires that nothing in this world can satisfy, I can be sure that this world is just a taste of what is to come and that life in Heaven with God will finally, fully satisfy. I'm also very happy that Jesus gives me comfort and peace in the midst of life's troubles.

I recall being promoted in my previous job and feeling nothing, no joy, no fulfillment. I previously thought that being promoted would make me happy, considering that I spent lots of time at work, worked very hard, and endured being at the brink of depression from so much work-related stress and pressure. At that point of being utterly perplexed and dissatisfied, I looked back upon my life and realized that the only time I was really joyful and at peace was when I was closest with God. This experience led me to surrender everything to God and decide to leave my secure job, knowing that my relationship with Him is more important than any kind of success, honor or wealth that career might bring.

Now, I am sure that all joy, peace and fulfillment I have is because of what God has done in my life. Yes, I still have my bouts of sadness, worries and dissatisfaction, but I am glad that I can look forward to a life that is perfect with God in Heaven someday.
